Strong Engine Vibration?

Hi Guys,

I picked up my ride for almost a week now.
I got a 535i, I have came to realize that whenever on a cold start I can feel the motor rocking really hard to the point that the whole car shakes, it does it for a good while until the car fully warms up. At first I thought it might be rough idling, but it still does it after the RPM drops down to below 1000rpm to around 6 to 700 i still feel the rocking of the whole car until about 3 to 5 mins later.

Does anyone else have this problem with the car?

Any suggestions would be great!

I was considering of taking the car back to have the dealer check it out.

I don't know about the petrol engines, but mines a 535d and it's sublimely smooth from first start and throughout the whole RPM range.
Was the condition there from delivery or has it only recently become apparent? Either way, I reckon you should get it back to the dealer ASAP.

i started realizing it couple days after i got the car. I scheduled an appointment today gonna bring it in and see whats going on with the car.

Picked up my 535 about 7 weeks ago. Todate no issues. Hopefully it's something minor.

I asked a BMW tech about the shaking. He suggested it was because the engine has to run extra lean while it is cold to meet emissions standards. I experience the shaking in my 535i while it is cold. Not enough of an annoyance for me to take it in though.

Watcha talkin bout Willis? Had my 535 for about 3 month and no issues at all other the the recall I just got the other day.

Yes my car also shakes upon cold start.

For the 535d postings, these are not helpful. This is a 535i (petrol) problem, and "I don't have this" doesn't help narrow the root cause.

Me too my engine shake a little when it is cold for around 10 seconds then stop
