F10 Parking Space AKA Garage Overhaul 2017.
I'm always thinking of ways to improve my workspace at the house. Not everything warrants driving to the shop, and I work on a lot of projects at home.
Since I bought the house about 5 years ago I've wanted to do something with the concrete. There were plenty of stains from the prior tenants, and I certainly haven't done it any favors myself. To start I moved everything on the floor inside or into the back yard, and then swept, dusted, brushed cobwebs etc until it was as clean of debris as possible. When the epoxy company I hired started grinding you can see how really truly dirty the slab was. Completely ground down, prepped for the base coat of expoy. Base coat of epoxy down, with a heavy broadcast of flakes to break up the inherent regularities in residential concrete. That had to dry overnight, and the next day the guys came back to apply the clear sealant coat over the top. Now that the floor looks so great I'm noticing how lousy the walls look! After the clear was allowed to dry for 3 days I set back out into the garage and decided to put a coat of paint on the lower belt of the wall, and the backsplash between the toolboxes and upper cabinets. Paint dry, with the tool boxes back in place! and a panorama to top it all off. aaaaand of course, the F10 in her new habitat. |

I've been wanting to do this but my car OCD (should be CDO!) won't let me leave the cars outside overnight let alone a week!! Maybe our next house... |

Excellent - not only now a cool garage to work in, but should considerably add value to overall home value

It looks great @Stück ! I will eventually get to the floor, but I decided to start with the walls.

Those cheap DIY kits never hold up well long term, subpar quality product, and it doesn't bite into the concrete unless its ground down. The bulk of the labor is preparing the concrete substrate to accept the epoxy for a long term bond. Diamond grinding the concrete is the best way to achieve a mechanical bond. The solvent flash on this stuff was enough to damn near knock you off your feet. Professional/Industrial grade Sherwin Williams epoxy products.

Holy $hit balls that looks SWEET! I can't wait til i have the budget to do mine! Paint, red tool boxes and Motul trashcan adds a nice touch! How long should the epoxy last/hold? Are you still able to use a floor jack?

This is an official thread hijacking.
Stuck there are over 15,000 views of your Pure Stage 2 install thread. Post some videos of the f10 in action and some logs about the boost problem. What hp and lbs numbers is the mission stage 3 tune projected to hit? Give us something brother! You got "epoxy" money, so break off a few crumbs for a dyno for all us f10 guys waiting to know if it's worth it. I know the Pire turbo isn't performing right but I bet it's still better than stock. Can you get some BOV noise videos? All in favor of starting a Kickstarter for Stuck to dyno and a petition to Pure to speed the hell up on his replacement? |
