I view the BMW V8TT vehicles as lease-only.

I was also thinking about getting a Macan GTS or Turbo when my 550i lease is done. There's a Macan facelift coming supposedly sometime next year (some say spring, some say later), so not sure how the timing will work out. I'd rather not get it just before the facelift... By the way, the new BMW X3 m40i seems like an interesting alternative to a Macan GTS.

May 5, 2018 — A BMW N63 engine class-action lawsuit may be over for owners and lessees who have suffered from drained batteries and oil consumption problems.

The proposed settlement includes about 84,000 current and former owners and lessees of 2009-2014 BMW 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, X5 and X6 vehicles equipped with N63 engines.

Plaintiff Joon Bang filed the class-action lawsuit in September 2015 in California, and that same month a similar N63 lawsuit was filed in Kansas. The Kansas lawsuit was dropped so the plaintiff could join the California complaint, but within three months two more N63 lawsuits were filed in California.

The affected parties then moved to transfer the consolidated lawsuit to a New Jersey federal court. Although the case never went to trial, BMW says it agreed to settle to save on the future expense of litigation that has already went on since 2015.

Reimburse for oil changes, up to $75...
What dealer does an N63 oil change for $75? Our N55 was $150..
Pretty piss poor settlement from what I read.
Might be able to get a battery and some oil changes though, better than a stick in the eye.

Lmao! Just a little better than a stick in the eye. Gotta love how the attorneys pulled in $3 million in legal fees and we basically get $75 which doesn't even cover a diy oil change and a potential battery.

Very confusing!

So you can be reimbursed for 3 past oil changes AND covered for 3 future oil changes?

But if you don't want to be reimbursed for 3 past ones, you can be covered for 4 (FOUR) future ones? Is this correct?

What's with the $75 max limits? Does this mean that there will still be out of pocket cost if the dealer charges above same?

If so, that's really ridiculous. How much are dealers charging for N63 oil changes now, $150?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Surprised?

Classic example of class action litigation in America.

This I know.
