Installed Some Under Body Parts Damaged by Curbs and Snow Banks
2012 528Xi:
I installed the left front plastic panel and the right rear plastic panel with simple hand tools and use of a floor jack. If I can do it...anyone can do the same! The front plastic panel was damaged prior to our purchase (curb)-I just didn't notice it un a few months later. I broke the rear part when I backed into a snow bank-no damage to the body panels, but the under panel was not so flexible. The left plastic part took 45 minutes due to 1 fastener that was very hard to reach!. I finally loosened the middle underbody panel to wedge my hand in to loosen the last screw. The rear part, although much bigger...was much easier. Took about 1/2 hour. Thanks for the advice I received from others-couldn't have done it without the forum. Parts came from Atlantic City BMW-a good group to deal with honest prices. The parts are: cover, bottom left: 51757312829 (replaces 51757186517) Rear right cover, 51757186522 Thanks Tasmanian |
