With my 530d GT I am experiencing:
- 39,0MPG when driving 55 mph - 25,0MPG once driving all speeds - also up to 155 mph occasionally - (long journey from France, Germany to Austria: 565 miles in 9:30 hours ) - 20,5MPG once driving very fast - most of the time above 130 mph - (fast journey from Venice to Milan: 260 miles in 2:30 hr with average speed of 104 mph) Europe seems small with my BMW 530d Gran Turismo - A car of many faces Last edited by spark9; 10-24-2011 at 06:00 PM.. |

Now had Three trips from the UK to the Costa Blanca (Spain) during 2010 and 2011. Overall fuel consumption (530dGT) averaged 41mpg (UK imperial gallon). Distance from home to Spain is 1320 miles. My previous X5 530d averaged 32mpg for same journey. With the cost of fuel increasing dramatically the change to the 530dGT was well worth it.

Glad I chose a 535d and then got DMS remap, I have just done 400 mile round trip all be it on motorways all but 70 miles and got 45mpg at maximum 80mph.
Usual driving I get 36-39mpg but today challenged myself to watch efficient dynamics readout and tickle throttle to maximise consumption. Only did it as left early for meeting but have to question saved myself circa £12 on fuel but took 3/4 hour longer overall. However if I wanted mpg would have chosen 520d estate so will be back to normal tomorrow even if nice to know what can be achieved. |
