The 6GC will be my next car a couple years from now for sure. I'm not quite ready for a 7 yet, so its the logical next BMW for me

However, the lease prices (and used market) tell a scary story about this car's depreciation. In a nutshell, the depreciation looks to be 7-series like.

Given that the 6GC's features aren't any different than my 550xi, the justification for the move really only comes down to (a) better looks/style/finishes, and (b) swapping out for something new. If I drove the 6GC for 3 years, it would cost me about $50k easily - hard to justify on just A and B above.

So, I've decided to just keep the 550xi for another few years. As many of your (wisely) suggested, I'm going to check out the new 5 when it's announced, and just give it a bit longer. My 550xi only has 16k miles on the clock now, along with another 1.5 years of warranty, which makes it harder to justify getting rid of it just yet, too.

Thanks for the sound advice, guys!
Great choice. I went to the dealer today and test drove the new 7 series (which will be pretty similar to the nxt gen 5 series) and the 650 GC. In all honesty, i prefer the buttons and gear shifter in the current F10. I am not a huge fan of the flat button feel and look. The matt black plastic interior pieces and steering wheel leather seemed lower quality too. I will say that the touch screen was my favorite part and the driving feedback for the 7 series. Felt as nimble and fast as my 535i even though its bigger.

In any event, I personally believe the current 5 series f10 generation is a beauty and loads of fun to drive. I just picked up a 2016 535i and I feel an urge to add an f10 M5 garage as a keeper along with my E46 M3. Enjoy the 550!
