Shadow trim blackout done!

Finally was able to get the shadow trim done. Wasn't too complicated...just patience and time. I did go with gloss black instead of matte because I wanted to see if I could black out the door trim/front reflector and fender trim. I still have left over vinyl So I'm going to try the grill trim next to the fog lights. What do you think?!

No need for the 4" roll...I went with the 3". I still have enough to do another door. I like knowing that I did it myself!
But yes BobbyDrake I need to order that double slate grill Haha!

It wasn't hard at all but Maybe it's because I'm good with my hands. Do order the squeegee cause I used that to smooth out the edges. I even used the squeegee to pop off the side trim. Side trim is best done if you take it apart. Trying to do it on the car was pretty difficult. The door trim I did in about a min each...very easy. Again the squeegee helped smoothing it out over and under the edges. The front reflectors only took a few min. I would say the hardest part was trying to get under the mirrors. I probably could have removed them to make it easier.

Can't help asking about those bulges on your tyres. Have you had that checked? I'd return them to whoever you bought them from and require a non-faulty set (at least on the front axis, as the left front tyre in the pictures is definitely bulging!)

Dealership won't cover it...they want $500 for it. I'm waiting til about mid summer to replace all 4 tires with non runflats. I don't drive the car much since I have other vehicles.

Be careful if you are going to drive the car with the bulges as they indicate a leak into one of the tire layers and can lead to a blowout.

Nice work man.

Did you do this with the trim on the car?

Or did you take the trim off?

If so how did you take the trim off?

I got a quote from a vinyl place and they want to charge $200 plus tax to do this.

So far So good! Any small bubbles I had are completely gone. I've power washed the car and everything seems to hold.

I'm surprised how the door handle trim is holding because of the shape. I was afraid of the powerwash getting up underneath it but it held to my surprise!

Looks great and clean! If I were in your shoes I would have wrapped the B pillar with the gloss black as well. So the glass surfaces have a larger effect.
Nice job!
