Post Your N63 Mileage/Condition
Hey guys. Since the n63 engines are a known issue, I thought it would be a good idea to have n63 owners post what their mileage is and any issues they are having / have had in the past. I'd like to see who has the highest mileage n63 on here and what the car performs like.
I got my car at 55k miles. Was noticing some rough idle, car would shake a bit at stop lights. Had the CCP done at 58k and it fixed it for the most part. Only issue I have with the car now is that in higher gears, low RPMs , around 1200 RPMs the car would stutter and struggle to get over 1200 rpm unless I apply my foot pretty heavily on the gas. Once it's over 1200 rpm , it's smooth as butter, which is why I keep it in DS mode, where the RPMs don't drop below 2k. A few other members posted similar symptoms and said they had the fuel pump replaced and it did the job. I'm currently emailing my SA back and forth to see if my n63 is under the HPFP recall. I'm out of warranty and would hate to pay out of pocket just because my n63 build date was in 2010 (recall covers cars n63 with 2011 build date). Hopefully you guys can chime in your experiences with your n63, preferably you n63 owners with higher mileage so we can possibly get an idea where these engines are headed. A member recently posted that at 90 k miles his engine needed to be replaced (chunks metal found in oil). Thanks |

My 550 is a 2011 and I got it with 51550 miles in November of 2014 and it's now at 58000, during that time its been in for the Customer Care Package, HPFP, replaced oil and water lines to the turbos, replaced battery, right front and left rear EDC shocks with dynamic handling pkg. Of those things I paid $1180 for the battery and the water/turbo lines, my warranty took care of the shocks. I'm glad Bmw stands behind their products and fixed what they did for free but I would never buy any car like this without some kind of warranty and this will most likely be my last Bmw. It's a great car if you only want to do cosmetic mods but for performance and audio it's a total disappointment compared to the older models.

Such a shame.. Put on an m5 kit and some wheels.. Sick car and I had plans on badblacks intake and some downpipes but I don't want to sit there and add more sh!t when the engine is going to keep running into issues. Hopefully we can hear some stories of people going atleast up to 100k miles with no major issues. Or else I'll have to part out and trade this thing in. |

I have 75k miles on the odometer but have only owned it for 8k of those. It's had the CCP done prior to me, don't recall what else it had prior. I had a misfire so I pinned down the cylinder and replaced the coil and all spark plugs. I'm still under CPO but figured it was probably exasperated by the JB4 and didn't feel like messing with the dealer so I just did it myself. Runs great now and looking forward to trying the aggressive JB4 settings.
I am really enjoying this car so far and I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst...I've learned some lessons with BMW's and this one appears like it may be no different...I will be under warranty the entire time I own this car. Once the CPO expires I'll get a Route66 warranty. |

I have about 58k on the clock, owned since 42k about 7 months ago.
Had the care package done about 2k ago, but the car had injectors replaced at 1200 miles. Haven't had any issues with the N63 at all yet. I've had BMS stage 2 on since a week of ownership. Had the MAFs crapping out at 115+ before but after the care package that issue is resolved. |

Tried that already too.
My car had the CCP done twice. They replaced my injectors, plugs, and MAF twice trying to troubleshoot my drivetrain malfunctions. It wasnt until I took it to a 3rd dealer where they replaced my coils and solved the problem. I'm coming up on another service so I'll have them take a look at it. |

Interesting, I've always noticed in high gears/low RPMs my car feels shaky (almost like intermittent misfiring) when I try to accelerate as well. I figured it was just the fact that the car was geared so low.
Might be time to bring it in for HPFP diagnostics.

Just kicked over in CPO warranty so hopefully they won't give me too much trouble. I will definitely report back, need to get motivated to pull my BMS off first. It's hard in the cold

Build date 10/2010. Had 61k miles at purchase on July 24th 2015. Now have 76k miles. I plan on getting rid of it before 100k miles. I've had one fuel pump failure, did my own spark plugs. The air conditioner whines like hell, and the battery pit keeps filling up with water somehow. That's all I can think of right now. This is my second BMW, there most likely won't be a third.

I'm having this issue as well. Almost feels like the car is lugging.... You think it's fuel pump?

Build date is October 2011 on mine.
I'm closing in on 50k miles. I had some issues when I first got it (used) but since the CCP last late Spring, zero items so far which has been nice. I was 'this' close to getting rid of it, but glad I didn't. People can't believe it's a 4 year old car at the dealership.
