Right that box should NOT have been ticked, all works great as it should. so much for the BMW genius setting the car up, never mind all working now.

Ah - can you get the light show with adaptive xenons - or only with adaptive LEDs?

Cool - and I suppose it isn't as cool with the adaptive LEDs as shown THAT Youtube video.
With Xenons I am guessing you get the side-to-side cornering feature and up-down high-beam assist feature. I am further guessing that you don't get the Adaptive LEDs feature where the headlights virtually form a tunnel for oncoming vehicles so that the road is lit up below, above and to the left and right of the vehicle but the vehicle itself is not inundated with light. If you get my meaning.

With the Xenons, you have one bulb which does both dipped and main beam by covering part of the bulb. Adaptive Xenons (LCI) take that a step further by using a camera along with 4 way movement of the unit to give you the tunnel (or trench). The Adaptive LEDs have a number of bulbs in both units, along with the 4 way movement, which give you the tunnel along with various light patterns depending on the road, which is controlled by the GPS. They also have a cornering light (more like a spotlight) in the inside edge of the light rather than using the other headlight unit.
I think the LEDs really improve the look of the car, they appear to be slimmer and mean the car doesn't look 'squinty' like it does with the standard headlights. |

[QUOTE=JOHNBMWM5;20828725]NOPE the full light show with both, the Xenons are really quite good.
Better than I expected TBH.[QUOTE] +1. Wot he says. First time I tried them and saw the full dancing black tunnel around the car in front I was grinning like an idiot. Passengers continue to be amazed. Never been flashed with them, either. |

I've never been flashed either and I'm surprised because they wait way longer than I would before dipping in the face of oncoming traffic. But I guess it's hard to ever know what the other driver's perception is so BMW have clearly done a lot of research. The main problem I find with them is being fooled by reflective stuff like cones.
