Help - EWG JB4 on PWG 2014 535i
I have a 2014 535. So naturally when I ordered my JB4, I selected the one on the website with the description "2014+ Electronic Wastegate". Low and behold, my 2014 has a PWG.
FML, I've been running this for a month! Can someone tell me wtf this means and/or what I should do?

You can use the EWG JB4 on PWG models. Only trade off would be at very high boost levels you don't have the PWG solenoid driver to adjust dutycycle. For moderate boost levels though will work just as well.

Thanks for the response Mike! Can you elaborate on what you mean by "adjusting he duty cycle"?

They really need to change that description..
Almost all the 2014 535i's i have seen are PWG. But it is always good to check.

bump. Anyone have experience if this is safe to do? Accidentally just bought a EWG for my 2013. I don't really understand the "PWG solenoid driver to adjust dutycycle" Mike referenced to.

I'll put myself out there as the idiot who took like a week to figure this out. If you're looking up the part number by VIN on realoem.com, you are looking for the whole damn turbo. I spent forever searching for wastegate and then not understanding what I was looking at. The turbo will say vacuum or electronic. I was overthinking it. Hopefully this helps the next person googling this. First post here. Laugh at me.
