BMW 535d - Full black
Hi there,
I wanted to wait for my car to be fully modded before posting pictures but, what the heck, I'll post them eventually anyway. I drove Audi for the past 10 years (A3 - Q5 - S5 - A5 Sportback) and decided all of a sudden to change for BMW (which I don't regret AT ALL!!!!) So here are first the specs and some pictures (taken with my phone, I hope you won't mind) I didn't find every original English equivalent for the options I took. I'll translate some as i feel the most appropriate (don't shoot the messenger ) BMW 535d - M package Color : Carbon Schwarz Interior : Dakota Oyster/schwarz Leather Sport seats Heated front seats Standard suspension Hexagon Aluminium interior Trim (M) Shadow Line Exterior trim Sports leather steering wheel (M) Aerodynamic body Kit (M) Anthrazit headliner Ambience lightning PDC (park distance Control) Xenon lights Professional Navigation system Bluetooth connection (mobile) USB adapter Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles Rear-View Camera Split fold-down-rear seat Surround View (Side and Top View Camera) Advanced instruments combo M rear Spolier ASA GT2 wheels 19" (customized) Still to be done : Full windows tint (front and rear) - medium Complete Interior led kit + led fog lights I hope you'll enjoy Last edited by gauthierserkijn; 08-03-2011 at 02:17 AM.. |

Newly Converted?
That car sure looks badass. And black Would be interesting to hear your experience with your first Bimmer, especially since you've owned a bunch of fine Audi's.

Thanks guys .
Well, the most noticeable difference with audi is comfort in general. Comfort on the road, really smooth transmission (although transmission was also great at Audi's). Suspension are just awesome, much more pleasant to drive than my previous Audi's. I was really disappointed by the previous 5 eerie version, mainly the interior quality. (too much "cheap plastic" looking imo) but also the exterior look, which a just found ugly. (my personal taste, I know many liked the previous version) With the F10, BMW really improved the quality. The exterior look has always been a major concern when it came to chose a car. Audi, with its A5 model, managed to make the most beautiful "regular" car I've seen so far. (I'm not talking about Lambo's, Ferrari's etc) I must acknowledge that when I first saw the new 5 serie, it was a good surprise. I still miss my S5 exterior look a bit though, but in general, the 535d is just 10 level higher than my previous cars. I couldn't compare the F10 with my first A3's, it wouldn't be fair Q5 was really nice, really comfortable, but was lacking some sportivity(something which is not surprising with such a car weight). The interior was really beautiful, a lot of room (although the trunck wasn't that big for such car type) I decided then to go for the S5. Sportivity at its best. Reaaally awesome car. V8, 354hp. I had the greatest fun of my life. It was a coupé, which wasn't compatible with my second baby coming in July. Also, the consumption was awful, +_ 18l/100 km. I then decided to go for a more economic and family car, but still wanted to keep the A5 look I fell in love with some years ago. The A5 Sportback 2.0l with 200hp. A friend of mine working at BMW made me test his ride... well... not much to say except that I sold my audi 5 month after buying it I wouldn't go back at Audi's for anything in the world With the F10, I have a car which is more comfortable than my Q5 (seriously!), almost as sporty as my S5 (I'm planning to boost it up at 360 hp/700 nm), a lot more space for the kids, and the M package....what a look !!! BMW forever! Last edited by gauthierserkijn; 08-04-2011 at 05:09 AM.. |

I've got the folding side mirrors option of course , so convenient.
Well, it fits just fine, some renovations are planned for the house next year, I'll make the garage bigger though, just to be safe PDC + surround view helps a bit too |

iPhone holder ?
Hi Gauthier,
On this pic below I can see your car is equipped with some sort of iPhone holder / adapter with integrated source of power supply : Can you please tell me : - The brand and model of this holder ? - The way you got it installed in your car ? - If this adapter allows your iPhone to be connected to the car the same way as if it was connected via the BMW snap-in adapter in the armrest box ? Thanks for any help, V1. PS : BTW, your car's a beautie ! |

Hi again,
Thanks a lot for your answer. I could find Brodit Proclip : http://www.smartroute.fr/article.htm...ference=834458 and the iPhone 3GS support I need : http://www.smartroute.fr/article.htm...ference=521106 Any advise on how to let the wire reach to USB plug inside the armrest ? Or how you did that / that was done to your car ? Thanks again for your reply. V1. |
