Advice on Wheels
Although I haven't even received my car yet , I'm considering options for the wheels. I would appreciate thoughts and opinions regarding the "best" wheel companies.
My car has been ordered with the 351Ms. Due to the road conditions in my neck of the woods my preference are either 18" or 19" wheels. There are some great designs on the HRE website. I'm also considering installing the M performance front splitter, rear diffuser and mirror caps, so the announcement of a carbon fiber wheel also interests me (anyone with experience in this area?). The MORR site is not helpful. Although it appears they also have a quality product. Other suggestions are welcome. |

for that kind of budget, you can get BBS FI (about $9K), maybe even BBS RI-D (about $10K ??)
take a look at Forgeline GA1R as well. Forged. In the range of $5K for set of 19" Last edited by bobblehead; 09-05-2013 at 05:30 PM.. |

Even though the Morr website is "not helpful" like you say, they do make a great product. You should email them and see what they can do for you. With a 10k budget for 19"s you can get pretty much any wheel you want. For our cars I prefer monoforged wheels as our cars are heavy.

If you're gonna spend that kind of money on wheels, at least go with 19s.
Check out the brand new P1 series from HRE.

Thank you all for your great advice (and Lacster for the contact).
Between your suggestions, browsing other forums (there are some seriously extreme drivers out there) and the wheel company websites it seems that forged monoblock is the way to go. I've also been able to narrow down to a set of either HRE P107s or MORR VS 51s. I would actually like to maintain the twin 5 spoke design of the OEM 351M in a lighter wheel (this will be part of a theme within the car that goes well with the new M performance steering wheel and hopefully the new M twin slat kidney grille). Thanks again for your inputs. |

So....after a lot of reading, looking at pictures, correspondence with a lot of patient folk at MORR, HRE, Forgeline I've finally managed to make a choice.
I went from 19" to 20", monoblock to 3 pce (MORR MS5.1 20x9 +20, 20x10.5 +44) for a better look and a smidgen of customization. I'm really just posting this to say thank you for the freely given advice and a willingness to share your experience. Cheers. |
