It is where the rear view mirror housing attaches to the windscreen. It seems slower on my 5er than previous BMs & can be better if clean the screen.

Was the sky blue with the sun low on the horizon? It says in the manual that that may cause them to go on. I know mine are pretty sensitive but I just figure I'd rather them be on when I don't want them to be on, than off when I need them on.

If they come on in early morning sun or late day sun with the sun low in the sky, then that is normal. With the lights on you are more visible to the rest of the driving public.

I have mine coded to be less sensitive and they work properly now. The car has auto headlights so there is no way I am going to turn them off and on with the switch.

That's the spirit! I had the daylight hours thing yesterday: clear blue sky, late autumn northern hemisphere . . . . no biggie for me. In fact, I would like it if the DRL's included the tails, as my E92's did.
