2013 528i xDrvie Transmission Software Update

I've searched and searched and searched... I'm trying to see if there is any way to update my own ECU or Transmission using software and and ODB adapter. I don't know all the correct terminology but I do know that the transmission in my car needs an update according to the BMW dealership. They want to charge $275.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what Im asking or would you suggest I just take it to the dealer and get it updated there? Not sure if there are options.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't know anyone who has the means to do it for cheaper, just go to the dealer. Requires a beefy 50+ amp capable power supply to flash safely.
