Trying to make sense of this issue. Not sure if every car has it and some drivers are more sensitive to it Or it's variable by car? Seems that only I-6 is the problem. I don't remember any 550i complaints.

Wish there was better data to see if xDrive or any other option or build date correlation.

I am a 550i M sport owner, NO such problems, car rockets away from rest every time.

Wow, I'm impressed. I had hesitation issues from a dead stop on my 2011 528i. I did this today and it worked! Thanks!

Interesting, a lot of people have hesitation on the X5's. I'm going to give this a try, even if it's only a temporary fix

I tried it right away, and I have to admit, the accelerator is much smoother now from stop. And I'm a much happier F10 owner now than I was yesterday.

Steps...

1) hit start button once to turn on power (Don't start the engine)
2) then press the accelerator down to the floor for 5 sec
3) then hit start button once to turn off power
4) then remove foot from accelerator
5) then waite for 2 minutes
4) then start the engine like normal and try it out!

Good luck!

Dealer called me a few days ago to say that BMW is aware of this common complaint and is working to release a software update soon to specifically address this issue.

So, if you're dealer is not aware of it, ask them to contact BMW global to ask about it.

Good luck!

My local dealer says he should get it by mid march... but i'm not sure if this means that all delaers around the world will also have it the same time.

So i suggest to ask you dealer to contact BMW global to check when this update will be availbale to you.

The dealer updated i-drive software mid march and it did not help.

What helps is the reset procedure.... but only for a short while... I wonder why don't they program the car to automaticallly reset every morning.... I mean, how cmplicated is that!!!

Have you heard about any software update, that has solved the issue?

I got the software update in march... but it didn't solve the issue.
last week BMW tried a different reset proceedure on my F10. This time it included restting the transmission pressure valves. This appears to have solved the issue. The car is now very smooth and resposive.

I will let everyone know after two weeks if it's still smooth.

Is this an issue with automatic transmission cars only?............have not noticed any issue with my 6MT car other than a bit of turbo lag........I am coming from a e92 M3 with Dinan software............Joe

Would this reset procedure work on my 5GT ? My 550i sedan has no issue with jerkiness, but the GT certainly does.
