Bought my 550i December 2013 with 47K and I now have 72k - no extended warranty. I have replaced the turbo coolant lines, the alternator, the HVAC fan and the battery myself. The only other issues are the rubber hood to fender weather seal on each side, the marking AC fan buttons are coming off and the rubber coating on the inside drivers door handle is coming off.
I still need to get the N63 care package done.

Not to tempt karma, but bought my 2013 12/2012 with 1,500 miles. CCP done. Just hit 60,000, and no issues. Knock wood.

How much have you spent on your car for those repair bills total? I’m trying to decide if third party warranty worth it.

Thanks

I have valve cover, lower and upper old pans , and front struts replaced since I spent $3000 on the extended warranty. To me, it's worth it.

I don't buy extended warranty, and they aren't always available depending on the source of the car you are buying from.

'12 550i has needed turbo coolant related repairs twice, once the lines, the other the turbo radiator took a hit from some stick or debris and it started leaking since it is right up front. A warranty could have been useful on this car, but the used purchase price of the car was cheap enough with the BMW 5 series depreciation that I don't worry about it.
