It would be easiest to assist if you provided the OE BMW part numbers of that which you're working with.
The correct pre-LCI foglamp for MSport (S715A=Yes) should be: LH 63177839865 RH 63177839866 |

Maybe the bumper support/foglamp stay bracket was reinstalled improperly when it was reconditioned. Maybe you got LCI foglights instead. We're all just guessing for now. Just take a picture..help us help you. I managed to get the images of the bumper you bought..just need to see whats going on with your lights now. www.ebay.com/itm/262373040069 (that price makes me cry) |

Yup! It would make things easier if you posted pictures so we get an idea of the problem you're running into. Just like Aaron said it could be anything

Yeah, that caught my eye immediately. The sticker says LCI but the foglamp brackets attached to the bumper are pre-lci.
I'm wondering is some cutrate bodyman fixing the bumper didn't use pre-lci MSport brackets to "fix" ones missing from an MSport bumper... but then the pre-lci brackets should fit because AFAIK the cover itself is the same.... LCI Msport the fog lamps are centered in the bumper cutout, like this: |

It also says its for an F18 model, which although is listed as only existing as an LCI model, should not matter since the bracket bolts up. Well, we'll see when you get to the shop again. Only 2 things you can try now, put just the foglamp cover on and see if that clips on by itself, to verify if the brackets are aligned correctly(if not the fog cover might not clip on). And then also to get a picture of which part of the foglight itself you said isnt lining up. You're aware the tab on the back of the foglight has to snap in as well correct? If the top tab on the back isnt lined up at the same time, the 2 bottom screws wont go in as easily. |

I do not see how what you just posted is the same bumper that you posted up above. In fact its quite clear they are not. Your bumper there looks just like the white one I posted....
It looks like you were sent an LCI bumper with the LCI foglamp bracket, and you're holding a pre-LCI foglamp. That being the case it looks like you need LCI foglamps, they are much larger... |

The bumper pictured above in satin black primer is a pre-LCI with the outside justified foglamps
The white bumper (mine) is an LCI with the centered foglamps. Here is a close up of mine, I just pulled the grill so you could get a better look. I think you're is an LCI and thus your problem. What the seller pictured and what they shipped were not the same thing. |

For LCI:
Front fog lamp, LED, left 63177311293 Front fog lamp, LED, right 63177311294 I am not sure if you can use LED foglamps without errors. It may require adding the option to the VO and coding the FRM. |

Remember- Your car is preLCI and you have the fogs, covers, for preLCI. Converting to LCI will cost you more. LCI fogs cost 2-3x more than preLCI(you will only find used, new isn't worth paying for). LCI fogs require coding to work. They will hyperflash and you will have a dash warning. Yes, I tried to do this conversion in the past and that's what happens. It's up to you but you're basically going out of your way to source the additional parts bc of the seller's mistake if you decide to convert to LCI bc that's the bumper in your possession now. But it comes down to 2 options for you. 1.) Open a dispute, send the images, provide evidence that it's not what you paid for. Seller will most likely offer you 50% off to keep it so they wont need to pay for shipping costs to ship it back to them. You can use that 50% to get the rest of the LCI parts. If not, I would offer to close the case if they agree to send me all the LCI parts so it would complete my front end. Return the fogs you purchased for preLCI, and use that $ to have your car coded for LCI fogs after everything is installed. 2.) Do step 1 of option 1, and they might just refund you completely bc they dont want to deal with going back & forth with the dispute and just take the loss. There's a chance that either the seller or ebay will end up refunding you 100%. |
