Can anyone provide any insight on how to replace the rear axle seals on a 2012 528i xdrive? I could not find any diy's or information on the subject. It seems leaking axle seals are quite common. Mine is more of a weeping and not a leak. The dealer recommended them to be replaced but the car is outside the warranty period. I am not forking over 1k for bmw to do it. Any help would be great!

Do you have a windows computer?

If so, do some research on "finding" yourself a copy of Rheingold from the bay where the pirates sail or another place like that. It is the software the dealer uses, it will have instructions with pictures on what to do step by step. I can do a quick check to see if I can find the procedure and take some screenshots to send to you, but I don't have that laptop on me at the moment.
