SENSATEC vs Leather / Premium Package Trade In to Lease Deal

Hello Guys,

I would like some input from you guys.

I have 2008 328XI Premium/Winter/Nav.

Basically my CPO warranty is ending in less than a month. I could extend it for $1300 for another year. Also my brakes are almost gone, I will need replace rotor/brakes which costs around 1000$, may be 700$ from another place.

I went to a dealer and appraised my car, dealers are giving me between 12K-13.5K for the car. One dealer offered me Jet Black/Black Interior 528 Xdrive with Premium/Winter/Rear Camera/park Distance control for $295 a month with the trade in.

He also gave me an option for 256 with Black Sensatec/Jet Black, with heated seats and just rear camera, I don't know if it has park distance control.

What would you guys go with? Would you even do this? I don't buy cars anymore, I hate wasting cash all at once like that.

I don't mind the smaller 3 series, my only issue is the ugly interior, the pop up idrive display is ugly, I can't stand it. I like the built in 5 series view, or how it was in the E90.

There are really multiple questions here.

1. The first question is whether you're getting a good deal on your 328xi. I'd say for an 08 328xi, without knowing your mileage, the offers seem in the right ballpark for dealer trade-in.

2. Should you buy a 528xi? It's a nice car - but I'd honestly consider the 535xi instead - I just think the 528 feels too heavy for the car's power. Forget about what price/month you're getting - you need to negotiate the price of the car and that alone.

I've heard the fake leather ages bettter. If I could custom build I'd probably go synthetic fake or that cool bmw suede/cloth material.

I have the leatherette in my 2011 528i. It literally looks like new and no one thinks it is anything other than leather.
