HELP!!! Brand new wheels/tires vibrating like crazy!!!

Hey everyone! I have a 2012 550i RWD. I just put my supposedly balanced wheel and tire package on my car. 20x10.5 et32 285/30 rear and 20x9 et28 255/35 front. No rubbing at all btw. The issue is, as i got up to around 60...the car started vibrating...bad. There were no hub rings provided, as they said they were not needed. The shop told me the wheels should fit perfectly. He said the hub bore is 72.56 i believe he said?...anyway guys, please help. What is the hub bore mm on my car? ANY ideas on the shaking? He claims the wheel hub matches my car but i seem to doubt it...HELP PLEASE!!

You should have the wheels rebalanced and get a wheel alignment. You don't need hub rings.

Bore hub for your car is exactly 72.56, hence no need for rings. Hopefully re-balancing or wheel alignment will do the trick.

Definitely get the wheels rebalanced and an alignment done. Be sure to let the shop know of the high vibrations. Or another thing to consider is have your suspension checked out... Maybe a failed component.

Its not suspension related. everything was perfect, I put the wheels on, vibration like crazy starting gradually and consistently at 55 and exponentially increasing from there on. I haven't gone past 75 because it just gets worse as I increase speed. I am going to see if I can drop it off at BMW today. Thank you all so much for your suggestions!

Any tire shop with an alignment machine can balance ur wheels & aligned ur car.

Was it vibrating with the OEM wheels? If not, I doubt it's ur alignment... More likely a bad balancing job or a weight fell off during transit.

I had this same issue on my E60, cars hub bore size was 72.56, the aftermarket wheel hub size was 74.1. I was told the same that I didn’t need the hub rings and man were they wrong!! Had the wheels balance numerous times and still couldn’t pin point the problem. Finally i just went out and bought the correct hub rings (72.56 to 74.1) from discount tire and was smooth sailing from then on......until I hit a pot-hole --___--

Double check the wheels hub size

I would take it back to whoever your bought or had install/balance new wheels/tires.

Sounds like a balancing or road force issue. I had a road force issue with some Hankook tires I bought from Discount Tire. They ended up replacing them all for free with Michelin pilot super sport. Some tires just aren't true round.

a rebalance and alignment fixed the issues. they said it was probably the balance though. they were slightly off...

Wow...that should've been caught the first time! Any damage to the tires like bad wear patterns?

When I worked at Sears Automotive and if we dropped the ball on something like that we would eat the cost...give u an Apology and give a free oil change.

But at least in the end the problem was fixed!
