Removing Lower Mesh (M Sport)

I want to paint my mesh gloss black but cannot figure out how to remove the air ducts in the middle lower portion of the M Sport bumper. Any tips? The center mesh over the IC comes right off but the sides do not.

I would imagine the bumper needs to be taken fully off?

That's what I'm trying to avoid lol. I did it once before. It's not hard, just annoying to do.

You probably just need to grab the outer edges and give it a good yank. It helps if the bumper cover is warm... NOT HOT. I know that works for the trim around the fog/driving lights.

I think you just pull like the post above said. There is a DIY or something about that here. I can't find it at the moment.

It snaps on from the back side, you can likely get it free from the cover with the cover in place but it will be difficult to get it through the opening.

So if I just pull straight out on the large center mesh portion, it will just come right out?

If you're talking about wanting to remove the AIR DUCT inlets, then it will most likely require removal of the bumper cover. I say this, because it appears the air duct is one big part; both left and right air duct inlets are essentially part of one piece of plastic.

Here is a link to a site I frequent: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_7793

It should show you what I'm talking about; that's if we're even talking about the same thing. Are you talking about the part with number 6?

Yup, part 6. That's the one. Looks like the mesh is only going to get painted as that's too much of a hassle for me.
