What is the primary difference? Is it black wood verses the Dark Wood's brown walnut color?

And what goes better with oyster... any real world pictures on here?

I believe the anthracite is stained bamboo rather than walnut. I currently have the anthracite/oyster como on my 335 coupe and it looks terrific. I previously had walnut so was not sure I would like it but now believe that is the best interior color combination. After living with it, the walnut looks a little old-fashioned.

The anthracite is not a true black as in a piano black; to my eye it still has a brownish hue or undertone.

There are some pictures on the interior colors thread but you have to know what you are looking for and the color is not always accurate.

Nope, dark wood is perfect with Oyster/black - I have it myself. The wood is quite dark, looks almost black depending on the light.

anthacite seems more 'stripey'. I opted for it originally on my car but changed dark ash grain which looks like the same colour but a different texture , more of a random changes in it.
your dealership should have some samples I'd have thought.

I had bamboo anthracite in my last car, a 328i convertible. It had a grayish tint and I really liked it with the black interior. My current car has dark wood. It looks a little more refined and sophisticated, whereas the anthracite looked a little more modern. Both are very nice. I don't think you'd hate either one.

have yiou got a F10 briochure (printed one from dealership), it'll show you what it lookes like.
colour wise seems about the same as dark ash grain , just different texture.

Anthracite wood trim. There are horizontal lines that go through. The color is brownish gray and goes well with many interior colors: blacks, browns, tans and whites.

BMW offers different anthracite colored woods; a 3 series uses a bamboo but the 5/6/7 is a different type of wood.

I have the hex on my all black interior. I hated the trim in the brochure but it looks fabulous and rich in the car.
