Shifting over to M/S is locked!

When driving my car when i try to switch over to M/S. It seems like its locked and i have to keep on moving the shifter from left to right for like 3-5 seconds until i hear a sound then it would let me switch over. The sound is like a unlock sound then it would let me switch over. Does this happen to your f10?

Same thing happened to me 8 months ago. I had to get the whole shifter replaced and now shifts smooth from D to M/S mode with no locking problem. Its not uncommon. The shifter and module will be ordered and takes few hours to install and reprogram.

ohh okay Cool! im due for a oil change soon ill probably tell them about it then. Its pretty annoying when i wanan shift over to M/S & it wont let me.

Tell them before the oil change so they have the parts available otherwise they'll diagnose the problem when you go for the oil change and then order the parts requiring a second visit.
