Ceramic Controls

Greetings from Malaysia,

Just took delivery of aSpa 528i M Sport not long ago. Would like to gather some opinions on retrofitting ceramic controls for the car but am unsure whether it is worth the money or not and asides from that, will the controls scratch easily, with the gear selector in particular?

Thanks.

Hot climate version is whereby certain components are made to withstand the tropical climate which we have here. For instance, the radiator fan which we use here runs at 600W as opposed to cold climate variants 400W in order to dessipate the heat better.

I have ceramic controls and love the look and feel. When I get a loaner from the dealer, its hard to believe they put the painted/colored plastic stuff in by default.

I think it would be very difficult to scratch the ceramic as the material is much harder than plastic.

Sounds great. From where I come from it's near impossible to get the ceramic controls. From what I gather, the entire air conditioning panel for the front and rear, as well as the whole iDrive controller has to be replaced? As for the gear selector lever, can the trim be replaced individually? Thanks.
