If this is a safety feature, does the manual say about it?
By the way I've done some 1,000 miles in my 520d now (drive on the left) but haven't noticed any pullings to sides. Most of the miles I've done on country narrow roads. Tomorrow I am expecting to do some Motorway drive and will post if I noticed anything strange.

YAY! I was hoping to hear that's the case with late production numbers. I just found out mine should be finished next Thursday...

I bought the car off the lot since they were unable to fix my BMW 545 steering clunk.
I will check the build date tomorrow and let you guys know. The car have about 400 miles on it. Can I return it? |

Dave - what was the problem with the 545? Is it related to this? It's pretty damned hard to get a dealer to take a car back. Laws vary state by state, by even so they are very limited. Sadly, welcome to the club!

Since I bought my 545i 3 years ago is nothing but problems. Anything from creaking to steering clunks, brake assist failed, radiator replaced and alot more..They changed 2 racks and power steering pump and still did not resolve the clunking issue. I pretty much had it and told him to give me something towards a new car. They give me some money towards the new 2011 535 and now i'm here with issues again lol... just my luck

I just drove an August production F10 528i with Sports Package. I now know what pull you guys are talking about to the right side of the road. it is VERY noticeable. A few weeks ago I had a 2008 E92 335i coupe that did the exact same thing, new set of tires, many alignments done, and it pulled the same way this F10 528i did. I was told by my service adviser that it was normal on BMW's. I have had many BMW before my E92 335i and it never did that. I recently had my 335i bought back by BMWNA because of all the 4 HPFP replaced on my car. I now drive a 2010 E90 328i loaded and my 328i DOES NOT pull at all to the right or left. Steering is dead center and tracks perfectly straight. Maybe some of the E92's had the same problem that the early pre production September F10 5-series models had. All I know is that I am VERY happy to be driving a Perfect steering BMW again. I also have a 2010 X5 and it does not have any pulling problems at all.

No Pull on 535I
F10 535I with Sport package and no DHP. I have over 1400 highway miles on mine so far with no pulling. I've specifically looked for it at different speeds and road surfaces up to about 85 mph.

Yeah, Cars should not have a MAJOR pull at all. A car will follow a crown in the road but that's only after a while from letting go of the steering wheel. my 328i tracks overall perfectly straight and I don't fight with the steering at all.

If this is right, how is it with you people that drive on the left side of the road? Is it pulling to the left? |

Now What is the current situation. How many pulling problems couldnt be fixed? I will get my car this friday and I am afraid that it can pull to the right. My car is september built. What do you think is it possible that my car pulls to the right?

From what I have been observing on all these threads, September builds are not having the pull problem tetiker. I am expecting the delivery of my October build 550i soon too, and while I am having the second thoughts about it with respect to the pull, the data indicates that it is not a wide spread problem on post-Sep builds.
And to my countryman; tebrikler!

Hi, I am new to this forum but have been following this tread with interest.
My (new) 2011 550i, which I bought in August, is currently in the shop "until next week" awaiting the fix for the fuel sensor problem. This is the second time it is in for this AS WELL AS the 'pulling right' issue. The fuel sensor is now a recall so, once the parts arrive from Germany, it should be taken care of. However, the service mgr still says there is "no fix yet" for the steering problem. Posters have mentioned getting a "PuMA" report - can you please explain what this is in more detail and how to request it? Thanks. |

BMW's MUST be very sensitive to alignments because I have had two alignments on my 328i. Everything is fine for a few days until you hit a minor bump in the road. Ugh it's so annoying. Taking it back tomorrow for another Alignment.
