[Discreet_335i]

Hello everyone

Im looking at replacing the engine on my 2012 528i of mine with a used one.

i wanted to ask here if all n20 long blocks are the same? im looking at buying a newer engine out of a 2017 320i with a n20 but am not sure if all n20's are the same.

i did some research and see the years they were made but made no mention as to the exterior parts being different or not such as the manifolds. i know the wastegates are different so id have to use my original turbo to keep the pneumatic wastegate set up.

Anyone done this or can share with me if id be ok buying a newer long block then transferring everything over on to it.

i do want to buy a newer year engine to take advantage of the revisions made to the engine by bmw.

Any help would be appreciated.
