Rod bearing spun after replacing them very recently / Engine compatibility

2011 535Xi with 164k km here. Basically bought this car at 160k km with a spun rod bearing. Dropped the oil pan and inspected the crankshaft and found cylinder 6 was spun. See video below:
https://youtube.com/shorts/YfL-K8gC0...tMHjl5ZDgH32c0
We then looked at all 6 cylinders and only 6 was spun so we replaced all 6 bearings using install grease and torqued to spec. replaced the oil puckup tube with a brand new one. We then primed the oil pressure before start up. replaced sparks and plugs and was chasing a rough start up which is in this forum somewhere. and now i recently heard a little knock when driving home and didn’t think much of it. and now this is what it sounds like: https://youtube.com/shorts/BdHBk5Pxz...2RdJBsCniHqPjx

my only idea of what happened is that the oil pressure was not enough and the engine was ran with low oil around the bearings. Is there an oil pressure regulator or something on the n55?

is there any chance it could be something other than rod bearings? like possible loose vanos bolts in the valve cover?

If i were to do an engine swap and not deal with opening the engine again, what models and years can i use for an engine swap? I have a 2011 F10 N55 AWD. I know i’ll have to swap things over but to what extent and diffulty will it be if i can’t get a 2011 N55 from an F10?

Hard core bro. You should speak with Dan, aka BimmerHausPerformance, about engine swaps. He is the man, and has motors that are good to go.

I ran your VIN. Your prod. date is 2011-09-27. On your sill plate, it may read 10/2011 because it was built late Sept. Double check. You'll need this in the future when buying parts, they always ask for it.

I briefly looked at the mechanics of the motor. As you stated, that inop funnel was likely the cause. The oil level sensor (#6) didn't trigger because the oil was not low, but low enough not to be suctioned into the oiling system.
