clunk sound after lowering car with H&R springs
Installed H&R springs this past weekend, got about 1.25 inches lower all around, just what i wanted. But not hearing a mild clunk sound from drivers front side when going over very small bumps at very slow speeds, im talking less than 5mph and like a crack in the road, going faster or cornering is all good.
Any ideas what the issue could be here? Dont think i missed anything while installing them. The car is a 550i |

Yeah I would double check your install cause normally improper installs will give u noise, clunks and all kinds of weird sounds if not done right.

Yeah did the rear ones with a buddy and the fronts on my own. I'll let you know in the next few days, i think I'll take the side apart tonight and re-do everything and see if it goes away. I have a feeling the spring isnt seated right, still cant believe i messed up like that.

Checked it out tonight, everything looks good, there was a loose plastic peice near the sway bar, which wasnt the issue. Upon further investigating, its something to do with the braking system, when the car is moving like 1mph and every time you apply the beakes, even litely, it mskes the sound. Like the brakes pads are loose and are moving around. Not sure how thats related to the springs, but thats what it sounds like and thats where the noise is coming from...

Maybe you loosened something around the brake area by mistake ? check all bolts

Because the shock can turn sometimes you may not tighten it all the way. |

Any conclusion on this? I run kwv3 coils and hadn't had any issues at all until recently I started hearing clunks. Dealer told me my sway bar was bent so I ordered the M5 sway bar mod to go thicker and had that replaced but the clunk is still present. Ugh.
