Hi, my 2011 550xi recently had a valve cover gaskets done. I swear I STILL smell oil burning when I park it in garage. I've brought it back to the dealer twice now (First time they said the tech didn't clean it up too well.. Now the second time they're telling me that the valve seals are going and that's what I'm smelling)

After I drive the car, I can literally smell burnt oil from the grill area and from the general engine area with the engine off....

Any thoughts?

Take a look under the big (useless) plastic cover on the top of the engine. Start in one corner and lift straight up - it has 4 plastic "snaps" and lifts off.

Under there are the turbos and turbo coolant lines. Look at the piping that turns from black rubber into silver metal - that junction degrades with time (and heat) until the turbo coolant lines leak.

Mine has a burnt plastic/oily smell from that.
