I got to play with it at the dealer. Seemed okay but I still like the ordinary instrument cluster better. I wouldn't risk getting it, it looks like it lags on some videos.

I have it in my F11 and I will get it for my F11 that will replace my F31. If it's very nice and works well in daylight. Better than extended when the sun shines on it and it's just so cool! You can have the digits grow when the needle is showing that value. Three different modes of display. No lag.
I have pictures if I can fint out how to post them. |

I've got it and love it....lots of info on one screen in comfort mode, then love the big numbers in sports mode, also got HUD and speed limit display which all work great together. So glad I went with these options, would highly recommend it..

In Sweden it is called "the poor man's HUD" due to its lower price but versatile resolution. It can change and show a lot of information better than extended display. In the middle it shows a navigation image comparable to the HUD. If you have chosen HUD too it is half the price in Sweden so I am getting both on the next car which will have Night Vision too.

I do like mine and the displays are pretty funky. Looked at some old photos yesterday of my old E91 dash. Something inside me does miss the 'real' dials a little.

Have it in 2 cars... and I would not buy a car without it now. There is no lag compared to the standard cluster; most of the lag that people complain about is when you are switching between the modes; it does take about 500msec to switch between modes, but other than that there is no lag.
The Sports & Sports+ really is a great display. Also; the display can be configured to be always in the same mode (i.e standard mode). The magnifier function (magnifies the speed & rev number dynamically) is also great as you only need to casually look at the cluster to know what speeds/ revs you are doing... I also have the HUD. So the other information (i.e. navigation, entertainment, etc..) comes up either in HUD or the cluster; again very nicely thought of. Very well designed cluster... in my opinion.

There is a setting under Settings -> Instrument Cluster.
See 5_Series_Sedan_2014-UPDATED_OM (dragged).pdf page from the user manual.

I just took delivery of my new f10/550 M Sport. The Sport+ Mode instrument cluster display shown on this thread appears in my owners manual, but does not activate when I switch between modes. Is this display only available outside of the US?
