Here are a couple interesting videos on why not buy a Mercedes (or any used or high mileage expensive cars):

1. That dude needs a -long- dipstick to check that oil under his fingernails.
2. This guy is a dipstick.

For the record... the lemon was built 8/2010
Eric - assuming this means you traded and went for a 2014 535i xDrive? Looks like the "modern" line? Congratulations! I think you'll be about... 100 times happier??

Good eye! Yes - to their credit the dealer was fantastic about the entire ordeal. They traded the car back for what I paid for it and worked me a deal I couldn't refuse on a new 2014. It's got quite a bit of equipment my 2011 didn't have and no problems so far (47 miles!!)

If this one doesn't behave BMW may lose me back to Audi forever. My 2011 lemon was my second BMW nightmare. About a decade ago I had an X5 that nearly bankrupt me and I swore Id never own another Bimmer.

Third time's a charm -or- 3rd strike you're out! Time will tell which one. For now I'm feeling good.

So glad it worked out for you! The car looks fantastic - love the color combo, too. Best of luck with it!

That's pretty cool that you went from a 2011 to a 2014! I'm sure you'll love it.

I am happy that everything worked out for you.

I came from Audi. It was not a lemon but it burned quite a hole in my wallet. Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate to try the new audis.

I myself drive a 2013 528i and have had many experiences just like yours. I have taken my car into the dealership numerous times.. wether it was for steering wheel malfunctions, to random service lights that would scare the crap out of me. The worst was my coolant. From a family that owns a repair shop and has mechanics, I knew these cars use coolant but not to this extant.

First time at the dealership, they refilled my coolant and said there are no leaks, no answer to why my coolant was almost dry.

Second time they refilled it again, and did another pressure test and got no answers. They just told me to keep an eye on it and to top it off when it occurs. I find that odd for an almost brand new car with 10k on it. My father suggested that the coolant might be running through the engine and possibly harming the car even more and we won't know if it is unless its taken apart. Which the dealer suggested is too much work and won't find the solution.

Ive noticed the coolant drop again but haven't taken it to the dealer, I'm assuming maybe mine might be a lemon as well? i don't know what do you guys suggest? help please.
