About fucking time, the Joy slogan was a pretty androgynous. I think Volvo when someone say Joy, sounds panzee.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

wow that ad sucks. Happy that BMW is away from that fluffy Joy marketing and back to the Ultimate but please what the hell does fuel efficiency and coffee have to do with being what BMW stands for in terms of driving dynamics.

Bring back an ad of some dude getting wheel spin and taking hairpins while owning everything in its path, I will wait for BMW marketing department to get its shit together.

ps. love the tribute to the fuel light being ON!

this was the tag line on another video a few weeks back..

i mentioned it in the thread, good to see it back though!

@delvek - that is a quality ad, something tells me it wouldn't get approval today though... perhaps just suitable for the cinemas?

It's called a step in the right direction. Times are different, and people are way more sensitive to gas prices and economy.

But I agree with you. "The Hire" series featuring Clive Owen is possibly the best set of automotive cinema ever filmed, in my uneducated opinion. Just look at the directors! The whole series was amazing.

Action speaks louder than ads. Hell, I just hope BMW will go back to focusing more on dynamics than refinement.

And loose some weight, dammit!

Completely agree. Some of the new lightweight technology they're committing to in the next generation of M models is encouraging.

This back-to-basics approach, from the return of our slogan to lightweight technology, is a positive sign.

Can I just say it's amazing how good the mpg is on a 528i... 32mpg compared to the 328i 28mpg... With the new turbo 4 it's supposed to climb to 35 and deliver more power. There is no other innovative car manufacturer out there like BMW!

When the 5 can't win any comparos, we call in the big boys in advertising.

When their new Joy campaign flops, go to the tried and true.

BMW is becoming the next GM.

Sad.

I wouldn't exactly say BMW is becoming the next GM. They are innovators where GM has been a follower. Remember that this is a COMMERCIAL and not a marketing scheme to bash another car company like most do these days.

BMW still has lots to offer, but they did make a big mistake with the F10/F11. They compromised dynamics for comfort. Anyone else but BMW. True BMW fans are offended by this. It will only take one more disappointment for us to turn our backs on BMW.

Commercials are just commercials. A marketing gimmick. Those of you who shout "wow", "sick" (does it mean "very good"?) and so on from this clip; bloody hell, easy meat.

It will take more than a good commercial to reassure me.

The F10 is a great success. My F10 is 10x the BMW my e60 wanted to be.

Besides the typical regurgitated bloviated talking points of the nay-sayers that hang around like vultures after any new variant is released by BMW ... what the hell is the BIG mistake?!?! Dynamics for comfort??? How so? I mean, I have owned 2 F10's first one 4500 miles in all sorts of roadways at all sorts of speeds, now another that has 1500 miles, I have yet to find a moment that the words mistake come to mind.

Sorry if I come across testy but when is it ever enough? I read post after post of how bad the e60 was and now post after post of how bad the f10 is. This is an incredible creation give it some respect!
