M5 exhaust cabin noise level
I just got some m5 OEM exhaust installed on my 535i. I wired the exhaust flap open at all times. I'm happy with sound for most part but wanted to see if anyone else was having these issues. For the first 3 gears or so in regular driving mode it is too loud/drone exhaust note in the cabin. If I downshift a gear this helps with the sound while driving at all times. Is this issue due to the exhaust flap open at all times? Also does anyone know what this block metal that's attached to stock rear exhaust hangers? Thanks.

Yeah, its right around the 1800 rpm mark. My wife is threatening to take my car back and install the stock mufflers back onto it.

No way around that drone in Normal mode. Even my M Performance exhaust which is made for the 535 drones a bit in the range. Keep it in Sport and the issue is resolved.

Yea it's a drone but loud only the first few gears especially at lower RPMs between 1000-1800k. And worse when speeding up with foot barely mashing gas pedal I get a sound that rumbles inside cabin so much and is too loud in the rear seats. Wonder if it would help decrease cabin noise level if I returned both valves to stock position and dynomat under rear seat and upper trunk lid portion inside of trunk.

Get that! Open it when you want it open, close it when you want it closed. I planned to use mine, but my Meisterschaft system has its own valve system and remotes. I can sell you mine for 100 shipped. let me know.
