So, after about 18 months and an additional 15k miles, I can report that there has been no recurrence of the issues that spawned this thread. I did have an unrelated fuel pump controller issue, but nothing else associated with the internals of the engine. I plan on trading the old girl after my CPO coverage expires in June of '16...hopefully I'm on a glide path until then.

I'm happy no issues have happened after that once in lifetime issue with that engine . I am in St.Louis and take both my cars to Autohaus and there the best in town by far .I usually deal with Linda in service as she is a nice lady.

I had your original post happen to me a few weeks back. After the CCP and all that. VANOS solenoid had to be replaced.
My warranty runs out in Nov... Not sure what I'm gonna do.

I go to autohaus as well. How long did they take to do the CCP on your vehicle?

Did you contact them about the new fuel pump recall?

Thanks. Autohaus has done fairly well by me other than initially giving me the runaround after scratching one of the wheels on my old 335i, they made it right in the end though. The SA I usually work with is Greg Issit, he's a solid guy. A couple of the guys I work with usually use Linda, and have good things to say about her.

Not to worry, I assume the frequency of cylinders being bored out of round is pretty low...at least I would hope. Problems of all varieties do occur obviously, so all you can do is stay up with scheduled maintenance and hope for the best.

It's a crap-shoot on whether or not you'll have significant issues as the car continues to age, but as for me, I'll be trading at the end of my CPO coverage.

My CCP recall took them 1 day to check and 1 day to install but 2 months later and they did a great job although I have some weird noise that I have yet to figure out what it is. I also didn't get a gift as I thought they were planning to give each person who had "THE RECALL PERFORMED)

Nice to know your car is running well! I was cringing my teeth when I was reading your earlier posts about the car's situation getting worst and worst! Thank you very much for the constant updates as the repair went along. I must say though, this thread was actually more interesting than the crap we see on TV nowadays! Sorry you had to go through the ordeal but I must say, it was a good read on my end!

PS: Hope I never have any "battery issues" on my F10! LOL

Glad I could provide some entertainment...it was a bit of a soap opera.

I'm headed in soon for scheduled maintainence, I'm hoping for a clean bill of health.
