Looking to purchase 2012i xdrive, no CPO, 1 owner
I wanted to get a sense of purchasing the 535i out of warranty, I read that alot of kinks got worked out in the 13's going forward. It has always been maintained, no accidents and has a maintence agreement thru 2018, 32,000 miles, one owner, I appreciate any input, thanks.

I have a 2013 535xi (built in August, 2012) with 55k miles on it. No major issues at all. The only annoying thing right now is a so far undiscovered air conditioning leak, which is often caused by rocks hitting the front condenser. I'd take your proposed car for a test drive to see what you think.
Regardless of the cars history, our F10s are expensive to repair when they do break. If you take the plunge, make sure you budget (and I'm guessing here) at least 10% of your purchase for your next repair. Good luck.

As usual with used cars, you're rolling the dice. It boils down to your risk tolerance and your (potential) repair budget. Absolutely nothing is cheap to repair on these cars so factoring good extended warranty into your purchase cost might be worth considering. |

I have a 2012 535i at 88,500 miles.
Other than normal wear and tear like tires, oil changes, etc I had a valve cover gasket change at 57,800, then a oil filter housing leak at 88,100 and I changed out a noisy "interior" fan that still worked great but was probably had a short life left. And, my mechanic says next time I should do the tensioner belt as it is sounding a little weird (actually he said I should be doing it sooner rather than later) |
