2014 550I not starting
I picked up a 2014 550i from an insurance company that was in a front end accident.
Driver side airbags all went off and the front end is pretty smashed. I want to hear the car run before I dump money into fixing it. To start I put a good battery in it and read/cleared all the fault codes to start fresh (over 300 faults). All I’m getting it a click when trying to start.. Engine doesn’t turn over or anything, nothing happens. Just have air bag and crash avoidance errors on dash. Could someone point me in a direction on where to start ? Thanks ! |

Update
Bypassed the BST with a resistor no more code for that. Still doesn’t crank or start. All I’m getting now is Starter/ignition malfunction message on I drive when trying to start. |

12volts at the battery but only ≈2 volts in engine compartment positive and negitive posts. Could it be a bad ground somewhere ? Is this not allowing the starter to engage ? Here are some codes…

Update I got it to run !
If anyone is having this issues you need to use a 2ohm resistor on the actual sensor and the connector so you need 2 2ohm resistors. Also you need to use jumper cables and jump from positive on batter to where the main positive cable bolts to. Bypassing the cable shown in the picture. Bad cable due to BST. |
