Hi guys, I really want to get a muffler delete on my 2016 535i and put in quad exhausts with M5 diffuser. I talked to my dealer about it when I bought the car and he told me it should not void any warranties since it is only a muffler delete. I wanted to make sure I had written proof by getting an email from him but he replied with
"I spoke with my General Sales Manager and he said tampering with the muffler will void your warranty. My best thing to do is use BMW M sport accessories so you don't void your warranty."

I have my car serviced in a different dealership then the one I purchased the car in. Should I ask the dealership I get serviced about the issue? What is the worst that can happen if I do decide to get a muffler delete?

Voiding your warranty for that would be illegal.

yup, you be me to it. they have to prove that that caused a failure to a related system, even then you just have to pay for it but warranty for everything else remains in place. do I have it right?
