For those here who have 528i (both N52 & N20)

Do u know the exact size of the standard front discs brakes? Anybody care to use a tape measure to measure?

I do believe a detail spec sheet can be found on the internet without using a measuring tape to measure. Plus a measuring tape wouldn't be as accurate as those figure on the spec sheet I think.

Just found out, BMWHK is being stingy & HK-spec cars have smaller front discs than EU-spec. 330mm front & rear.

Our car should be EU spec as well. Bear in mind the year when you check those spec. An earlier model 528 with the I6 engine should have a bigger disc because of the heavier engine.

Car is EU spec, but check ur build sheet, it may have option code S212A, which is "Country Specific Brake System". This means US-spec brakes & calipers.
There's no difference in the brakes between N52/3 & N20, & S212A potentially exist in all HK-spec cars except M5.
In a nutshell, if no option code S212A then front brakes 348mm. If it has S212A then 330mm front discs & different calipers (basically same system as 523i/520i).

Good in depth research there... think positive, if you ever want to ditch your brakes for something else, you wouldn't be as reluctant

I haven't ordered the car yet, still at initial research stage.

I will be parting with my "fake" brembos front coming fall..... Will probably look slightly better than the stock 330mm brake kit if any of you are interested

I thought you will be putting them on your GC or you are going to buy a new set for the new car

May just stay low and test out the stock brakes first

Will be, but it'll mean big rims. I'm currently looking at Brembos with 365mm discs (want to stay on 18" rims), how much in HK?

Ask mlai to sell you rim and brake package... 18" is too small for this car.
