Garage List
E-class, good exterior, horrible interior with chromed shiny plastic everywhere, horrible to drive. If you consider it, go for it, but there is s big difference to a F10.

I'll defo not order before driving one. Looks OK on paper but I am stuck with it for 3 years so will have to have a decent test drive and get a good feel for it.

Plus the mercedes dealerships I've been to are very arrogant, they really don't care about the customer as I am guessing 80-90% will buy the car regardless. The mercedes dealership experience may be different for you though.

+1

I have both BMW and Mercedes vehicles on fleet, amongst others, and the diffrence between the dealers is amazing! BMW just can't seem to do enough for you, MB seem to not give a hoot about their customers. This added to the fact in my experience MB vehicles most also the most unreliable on fleet has lead me to recommend we stop buying them altogether! (foe those interested my company fleet consists of BMW, MB, Hyundai, Mini, Jaguar cars)

What do you think of the Jags in your fleet?
I just had a family friend who had an E60 MY2008 LCI (2007-2012 (62 plate)) change his XF to a 520D F10 in march after just 7 months with the XF. He said the fuel economy was terrible (only 30-33mpg). He loves the F10, he says the change from the E60 to F10 is like night and day and prefers it over the XF* plus the fuel economy is a lot better 50-55MPG.

*He always wanted a Jaguar... not anymore

Well it's a bit hard to compare as at the moment the only BMW on fleet is a 325i msport coupe. My f10 520d is on order!

But one of the jags is a 2.2 diesel, the mpg is around 38 I believe, but the main complaint the driver has is that it sounds like a mini cab until its warm! He says his wife's diesel s-max puts it to shame!

He likes the car other than that however.

So, got the first lot of quotes back, the first company to respond is probably the most expensive of the three that are currently in favour with my Firm. Much cheaper than I expected and if the others come in cheaper even better.

BMW 520d SE, Silver, Sports Auto*
M-Sport steering wheel
Foldy Mirrors
Ambient lighting
Some other stuff I can't recall

For me £178 per month (The annual lease cost is just over £7k with my firm contributing £4882 I pick up the rest).

*One of the other lease Co's is saying the Sports Auto is not available on the 520d SE (I'll have to check back through the press release on the other thread). So I have said OK, ,but as long as I get the M-Sport steering wheel or at least the sports steering wheel I won't be too bothered. (My current car should've been sophistico grey with a sport steering wheel but I ended up with Carbon black and the awful basic s/wheel due to a mix up by one of my fleet team with two orders at the same time).

Out of interest the two Merc E300 hybrids were £236 for the saloon and £274 for the Estate.

Most likely.... I still need to look at the bl00dy configurator, How much longer????? On that initial order, I forgot the black head lining and high gloss shadow line so that'll put it up a bit.

The 5 series saloon disappeared from the UK website, now its back again but still no configurator. Either that or a brochure so I can go through every option from A-Z so I don't miss out on stuff like I did with the previous two.

Even though the one for the public isn't up, I believe the dealers one is.

Pop into a dealers, go through the configuration with them and they can print off a leasing quote for you. You know you won't lease through them, but they don't. They should be more than happy to help.

According to Horatiu Boeriu in an article on BMWBlog published June 30 2013: "The 2014 BMW 5 Series Facelift is just days away from its market launch in Europe."

I did this today thanks. Got the following configured;
BMW 520d SE
Galcier Silver
High gloss shadow line
Multi-spoke wheels
LED fog lights
Sports Auto gearbox
Multi function display
Black headlining
Ambient lighting
Folding Mirrors.

Put it in to my fleet people so now we'll have to wait and see.

I really hope your fleet department plays ball.

I put my official order in with my fleet broker on the 18/06 and have a week 30 build slot. I've been told this should mean delivery to the dealers around the first or second week of August so I'll probably get the dealer to hold it until 1st of September to get the '63' reg.

On the Czech BMW website the LCI 5er is already available. Every version, incl. M5, M6 (the added Comp pkg) and even 4 Series!

You'll just need to google translate it. http://www.bmw.cz/cz/cs/general/ecom_uic/vco/vco.html
