Regular vs sport steering wheel on 13 535i and 550i

Im waiting to see what the build site will offer on the 2013 5 series. One of the things I liked about the 12 5 series was the fact it offered a regular sport and an M sport option for the car.

Sounds to me like the only option to get a sports suspension, black headliner and sport steering wheel is now the M sport?

Does this mean the sporty steering wheel from 11 and 12 is now discontinued? I would love if anyone in the know could spill the beans and indicate if its now standard. The old non sport wheel isnt nearly as nice as the old sport. If they now just upgrade the wheel, and the adaptive suspension is an option. it would made sense to kill the sports package on the 13.

Paddle shifters are now only available with the m sport package. This could indicate the sport steering wheel is gone. Otherwise, if the sport steering was made the standard steering wheel, they could offer paddle shifters without m sport, unless they simply didn't want to.

Were the paddle shifters part of the sport package in 2012? In 2011, they were available also with the sport auto trans option.

Also... remember that the 6 speed manual 535i didnt need paddle shifters.

Honestly, the base when on most BMWs is lame. The sport wheel is the only way to go unless you have never enjoyed having one.

i drove a non sport 535i once and between the seats and the non sport wheel, i felt like it wasnt as nice as the sport seats and wheel by a landslide.
