Question M2 or M4?

Will you get the M2 or M4?

As an entry level in to the M range, then the M2.

Also IF it's as fun as it could be, small car big engine, then the M2 could be perfect.

However for a 'serious' M car, then it's the M4.

Not sure about the M3, it has rear doors, however it's well known that M3 drivers don't have mates, when was last time you saw someone in the back of an M3

I was excited when I first heard about it.

Then I remembered, electric power steering, electric shocks, fake engine noises.....

Ugh.

But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

I'll go test drive the M2, hopefully it will surprise me. However, unless BMW turns things around drastically the 1er will likely be my last modern bimmer. On the other hand, I am hell bent on an E30.

M2.

It'll be the M3 for the 21st century.

I love both the M3 and M2... well, not sure about the latter as we don't know much about the car yet. I love the size of the E82, the F22 is a bit bigger but imho still the 'right' fit for me.

What I will get? Nothing. No money bro.

M3. IMHO an M has to have a bespoke engine.

I was hell bent on the M2 before but its just gonna be a tuned N55. It will have turbo lag (like the 1M) unless they change something drastic which I don't think will happen due to it cannibalizing m3/m4 sales.

Unless they make the engine like the m3s sport plus mode, which keeps the turbos spooled up all the time.

what 'turbo lag'? I certainly don't feel it in my car and I've owned turbo cars for the last 15+ years...

the M2 will be a fine car...and probably more entertaining than the M3/M4...
