for those of you with roof spoilers...tape or expoxy(BetaLink)?

hey fellow members,

i used 3m double sided tape on my roof spoiler...very strong stuff as it's what i used on parts of my Carbon 3d lip install. i used BetaLInk on my Carbon 3d trunk spoiler but for my roof spoiler i just used 3m tape. i was driving down the freeway when i heard tapping/banging on my rear window. pulled over and realized my roof spoiler was coming off!

when i installed the roof spoiler i used rubbing alcohol to clean any residue or wax off the back window. it was pretty solid for a couple of months but now i'm wondering if i'm gonna have to give BetaLInk a try on glass? will it hold? appreciate your guys feedback or if you guys have some better ideas on other products to use?

My roof spoiler was attached with 3M tape and it has hold for 2 years now and still going strong. I did double stripes so that helped.

I used 2 lengths of 3M tape on mine (replica 3DDesign) and it has been holding strong for a year now.

I only used a single layer of double sided 3m tape and I notice the roof spoiler is actually recessed a few mm to where the double sided tape is applied. So like mentioned above I'll probably have to do 2 layers stacked on each other unless there's a thicker tape I can use?

Doubling on tape won't make it better.

Try the 3M adhesive promoter pads with fresh tape

I'll check it out. What do the 3m promoter pads do?

You have too much down force :P

Is it coming off at the window or the spoiler?
Make sure the tape is touching both spoiler and window.
Make sure you have enough 3M tape. Not just a little strip.
I would take it off and reapply the tape and stick it on again. Make sure you clean both spoiler and window good enough.

The promoter is for wraps from what I understand. The 3M mount tape don't need this.

I have to agree with the posters here. I had roof spoilers on my E60s ( haven't gotten one for the F10 yet), and I used 3M tape. I used as much as I could fit and not be visible. I never had an issue.

Maybe try that adhesion promoter that someone mentioned? I was fine with cleaning the glass with Invisible Glass, followed by GooGone, then alcohol wiped. Mine stuck like glue, even when I washed with a power washer

Does it feel pretty snugged and tight on yours or does it feel pretty firm?
