F10 - Wiper release??
Does anyone know how to do this?...
....the wiper arm cannot be fully extended to remove the wiper blade as it "hits" the inner edge of the bonnet.... ....tried with bonnet partially/halfway/fully raised and no dice!!!....the same problem... Anyone?? |

not sure, but you can try the old fashion way; start the electronics without starting the engine and then turn on the wiper; shut off the electrics when the wiper is all the way up?

There's a feature described in the manual that makes the wipers stop in the vertical position for ice or changing. Don't remember the details but tried it and it works.

No. The wipers can't be lifted off the windshield from their parked position, but they can be from the other end of their wipe arc. I think that if the "bonnet" you so quaintly refer to, meaning (I think) the hood, blocked the wipers in their wiping function, we would have heard about it before now.

I remember reading this in the manual too... My car's at home so I can't get to it now but go over the manual and you should find it.

Turn the car off, then just slide them up the windshield there will be resistance, but they will release, and glide up. Then you can pull the arms away from the glass without the hood interfering.

Hi ALL...thanks for the advice...managed to erect beyond hood and got the problem licked!!...manual does say how but the release is manual not auto...perhaps its my interpretation of the wording as I expected the wiper to move up on its own after 3 seconds but did a manual when there was no movement...
