First, the negative: It is annoying loud around the 2500 to 3000 rpm range. While cruising at around 1100 rpm, you hear the buzz.

Now, the good news: Without a doubt, it sounds mean! I give it gas and it growls perfectly. It isn't very obtrusive while cruising on local streets or the highway. Beyond 3000 rpm, you cannot hear it too much but it's there. I have a hybrid, so when when the car switches to the electric motor, it's obviously silent.

If you are thinking about doing exhaust for aesthetic reasons alone, I recommends saving $$ and doing the muffler delete.
