2012 M5 Brakes

Hell I everyone. Just a random thought: do you think the brake kit on the M5 will fit on my 2011 550i M Sport? I'm not trying to be an M5 poser, but since we have "M" everywhere on our M Sport, might as well install the brakes/rotors/calipers from an M5? Now, it'd be different if I took out my 550i badge & installed an M5 badge. I really don't like it when people do that. So... back to the subject, do you guys think it would be possible to install the M5 brake kit on a 550i M Sport or I'd be better off installing the Brembo Brake Kit?

Thanks

I would assume m5 brakes cost a fortune new . Better off getting an aftermarket kit .
I'm waiting on a crashed/auctioned m5 . So I could use it's brakes and exhaust

Hahaha!!! Smart man. I'm thinking a Brembo Brake Kit or the M5 set-up...

I thought BMW announced they were providing M-Performance parts for the F10 5 Series.

Although the m5 brakes would most likely fit I would just go for brembo bbk in the fronts. Ive seen e60 m5 switch to brembo, so even for an m5 brembos are upgrade.

Cheers!

Turner Motorsports has a Brembo BBK for our F10's. I want to check their fitment guide to see if the kit will fit out stock wheels without spacers.

Aww! Poor M5! Keep an eye on wrecked exotics then - I know one has already been crashed but not too seriously if I remember correctly.

Whoa, just found out that the Brembo BBK for the 550i requires 22" wheels! :-(

Checking with Stoptech, and double-checking that BMW is not offering M-Performance front calipers for our cars.

Not exactly. I have 20" wheels and I have the 405mm disk BBK.

My question would be for those who have Brembos does the car actually feel and stop better in normal day to day driving?

I had Brembos all around on my old e46 and to be honest the feel wasn't that great. Initial bite was worse than stock since the calipers were so much bigger it almost had a "lag" affect when you tap on the brakes. I'm sure for extended track driving they would outperform the stock brakes though. Most people get BBKs for looks including myself back in the day while they actually "felt" less robust during normal street driving.

That was just my experience in the E46. It could had been a bad combination with the brakes and too small of a master cylinder etc... That's why I'm curious about how they really feel on the F10
