In the old days, people go the parallel import Vellfire due to the dismal spec from Toyota Hong Kong. But now, I think they are on par and going with official Toyota in Hong Kong is safer.....

I had a Vellfire, parallel import. But be warned, most (if not all) of the parallel import dealers are very shady. I got my sales to write-down the specific manufacture year on the contract before I sign. And I still checked it to be a previous year manufactured vehicle. Luckily, there were no difference between the 2 manufacture years, otherwise, I will be quite p*ssed.

If I were to buy one now, I would go official. Back then when I bought, Toyota HK did not have Vellfire and their Alphard specs were terrible.

Get the Alphard with the First Class chairs instead.

Too much for a van. Do they still build those Alphard/Vellfire on the HIACE chasis?

Maybe should go for a Viano?

Keep the Z4 and buy a cheap van like Serena if you want to carry people. Only buy Alphard if you have a chauffeur like mlai where you can actually enjoy the captain seats.

Viano is not cheap either but Merc makes good trucks, not cars.

I looked at the serena, stepwgn spada and also noah. The spada was the nicest out of them but feel too narrow inside and too little legroom for 2nd row. I will be using a driver most times and sometimes using myself for family/parents stuff..and so figured i'd be happier with the vellfire instead (otherwise I will just prob end up dumping the car for a vellfire in a few months anyway)

..ended up putting a deposit on a used vellfire...but now tryin to arrange DCH to do inspection so that its more thorough then just AA check. AA is ok for check i think, but in this case want them to check all the tiny details (dunno if thats the best place to do) ..feel free to suggest.
