2013 535i Sport mode?
When I test drove a 550i, the salesman switched the drive to sport mode on the toggle on the left of the gear selector and the car naturally revved higher and had more acceleration. What is the name of this option? Adaptive Drive?

No, It's called the sport mode. Adaptive drive is different. And I believe with the EDC you should be able to adjust the sport mode, choosing to use only the drivetrain or chassis or both. Drivetrain is the one that gives more acceleration.
picked this up from BMW's website "Adaptive Drive counteracts the forces that cause body roll. Your BMW handles with outstanding sporting agility, while also ensuring a very comfortable journey for you and your passengers. Body roll is practically eliminated, and winding roads can be enjoyed with a maximum of stability and safety." hope this helps =D |

I think with the EDC you get more option to choose from. I have the EDC option and it gives me "Sport+, Sport, Comfort, Comfort+, Eco Pro mode". But I'm not too sure about this.

Adaptive Drive is both the variable damping and the active roll bars.
As said, can be configured in iDrive as chassis, drivetrain, or both, changing 'reaction' levels with the modes toggle. Modes are still there without the Adaptive Drive option, but obviously with limited functions. HighlandPete |

The button (Driving Dymanics Control) that the salesman activated is standard on the 5 Series. It allows you to toggle between COMFORT, NORMAL, SPORT and SPORT +. It controls the response of the engine and transmission.
If you want the the suspension to also be tied into the system, you need to order Dynamic Damping Control. This will firm up the suspension as you move from Comfort up to Sport. Adaptive drive combines Active Roll Stabilization and Dynamic Damping Control. This system activly counteracts the body role of the car when going through turns, keeping the car flat. A friend of mine just got a 550 with Adaptive Drive and says the Active Roll feature is amazing. I ordered my 550 with Dynamic Damping Control, but opted against the Adaptive Drive, soley to save money. |

I find my F11 535i wagon works well on a wide range of road surfaces in normal mode, with very flat cornering. The fact the ARBs virtually decouple on the straight, enhances ride comfort, in any mode. ARS is a superb option, one of the best ever in a 5-series car, in my experience. HighlandPete |

Does anyone know where I can find the engine type on my 550i?
I just got my 550i M Spots from the plant. I was hoping it would come with the new upgraded engine N63tu but I can't find it stated anywhere? I feel a bit cheated right now. |

There are many threads on this..it was for the 5GT. It doesn't state on any BMW literature or bmw website that the 2013 550's have the new engine.....most likely for the LCI
