F10 with an EML Branded Title
Does anyone have any idea what the following means? I am looking at a 2011 F10 535i and they only red flag is that its carfax shows "Exceeds Mechanical Limit." This was a leased car so my first thought was that the leaser may have mucked around with the odometer. But then I looked at when this was reported and it was literally in the first month of the car's history.
6/21 Car clears US customs after being shipped from Germany 6/25 Serviced and offered for sale 7/29 First owner reported EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS TITLE ISSUED Titled or registered as personal lease vehicle 10/29 Serviced at 4501 miles It almost looks like the car's title was branded upon purchase. Don't know what to make out of it really. Any thoughts? |

i don't get it. i'm far from being an expert but i don't think that even applies to newer model cars. :?
http://www.carfax.com/Definitions/Glossary.cfm Exceeds Mechanical Limits — A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer.

Exactly. Makes no sense to me either.
Update: Turns out it was a DMV f-up so the dealer sent the title back to get it fixed. Last edited by sickwithit; 10-30-2013 at 12:16 AM.. |
