New Dashboard -4 Weeks Without my 535!

Looking for some advice - Have a 2012 535 - Car has 48K miles on it - I baby the car - Looks brand new - about 10- 15 K miles ago car developed a bad creak in the Dash (not a rattle)- Took it to the dealer - Dealer looked at the car and told me the Dash was delaminating and would need to be replaced- They've had the car for 4 weeks now - They've given me a 6 series Grand Coupe as a Loaner and Now a 750 - So they're taking care of me, but 4 weeks without my car??? Is there any recourse with BMW? I asked the dealer and was told BMW would only consider a buyback for a 1 year old car...

In my 25 years of driving, I've never had a car that needed a new Dash and NEVER EVER had a car in the shop for 4 weeks

And BTW that 6 is sweeeet!

Any thoughts/advice?

Hi.
If they have kept your car for four weeks it seems like they have quite a long delivery time from the producer of dashboards to BMW. This can occur for a number of reasons and of course its not fun but on the other hand youll get a new one.
And you are being well taken cared of with the loaners

Sure it's not fun to have your car in the shop, but with loaners like that, I wouldn't complain.

Here's how it works:
If you own a 5 series and they put you in a 3 series for 4 weeks you complain.

If you own a 5 series and they put you in a 6 or 7 series then you keep your mouth shut and hope the dashboards are on back order till Spring. :-)

Our 2001 Mercedes SLK needed a completely new wiring harness, which had to come to Hawaii from Germany. Then they needed to install it. We were driving a C-class loaner for like 10 weeks. It took forever, and my wife was not happy to be without her convertible in Hawaii for that long.

They should at least give you an idea of when you will get it back... but like others have said I would keep quite and enjoy the loaners!

My 2014 was in the shop this past summer for 6 weeks waiting for a power steering pump. I didn't accept the loaner because I didn't want to drive a 320i for 6 weeks and I have other toys to choose from. There was no way of getting anything other than a 3-series of X1 as a loaner from this dealer, so you seem to already be ahead of the game with a 5 and 7 as loaners. If they had offered me a 6-series, I probably would have taken it. I did however get the dealer to cut me a cheque to cover one lease payment since they had the car for a bit more than one month.

U didn't say or ask what the hold up was? Shipping? Availability?

Like everyone said...enjoy it! They put me in a 3 series for a day and I hated it!
