19" or 20" wheels set for f10?

I know 20" looks nicer...but for those who have tried both or have either...is there a ride difference (on xdrive suspension or normal suspension) between 19" wheels and 20" wheels. This will be a summer set.

I was thinking of (BBS CH-R, grey):
f: 19 x 8.5 245 mm
r: 19 x 9.5 275 mm

Just wondering if I should upgrade those to 20's. I had 18's on my 335xdrive previously and thought that was the right balance of comfort v. looks.

That's the exact set up I have 19 by 8.5 in front and 19 by 9.5 in rear on my 2011 535 .... I love the set up rides nice and smooth as well, I'm sure 20's may look a little better but it's really up to preference ... What type of rim do you plan on putting on anyways?

I will be getting BBS CH-R Titanium...my setup will be similar to veindoc's actually...

Only thing is my car = xdrive, but that should not matter.

This is similar to what I am planning:

This is what I'm wondering about:

You have xdrive as well...any issues running the staggered setup?

Yeah my rims are staggered had them on for a few months now, no problems at all drives just as it did with stock rims on and my car is xdrive like yours, would recommend doing a staggered and def makes the car look better having the rear wheels wider... But yeah that titanium color rims is really nice, gives the 5 series a great look something different

I think I'll go with the 19" BBS CH-R's then...leave some room for potholes, hopefully tires a bit cheaper and they still look nice.

Are you running a winter set on your stock rims?

I just fitted my new 20's on this morning. Look at my thread just below yours.

I have the M-Sport pack so the car came with a set of 19" and run flats.

The 20's with the Michelin Super Sport feel very much the same to me....slight difference over bumps but close!

is the ride harsher with the 20"s relative to the RFT 19's?

Not really....there is a slight difference where you feel the road and its imperfections more but it's not harsher.

The difference doesn't outweigh the look...I feel the 20's really step up the look of the car and the ride difference isn't affected in a way that make me regret the switch.

If you like the look of a modified car and want the car to have that extra something...20's are the way to go...and without a significant sacrifice on ride quality.

I'm having ACS springs installed next week and that will probably make the car slightly harder. Again...not a concern for me. I don't do very long distance drives on a regular basis where absolute ride comfort is a must. I'm willing to sacrifice a little to have a car that looks the way I want it to!
